About Me

Jiating Zhu is currently a PhD student in Brain, Behavior and Cognition Program, working in Denison Lab at Boston University, USA. She is now working on visual temporal attention with decoding analysis.

Before that she was a Research Assistant in IMCL Lab with the Department of Computing, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, China. She received M.Sc. degree in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Edinburgh, UK in 2016. She worked as a backend engineer at Fano Labs Lmited, HK in 2018. Her research focus has primarily been on machine learning and brain fMRI data analysis. She is interested in developing learning algorithms for and inspired from neuroscience.

Dissertations

Master dissertation:

Statistical Significance of Functional Networks in the Brain. [pdf]

August 2016.
The University of Ediburgh.
Supervisor: Dr Michael Herrmann.

Analyzed the functional networks in the brain across one hundred subjects by their functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) data scanned during the resting state.

Bachelor dissertation:

Developmental Neural Learning for a Visual Concept Steering Control Task. [pdf]

Jun 2015.
Loughborough University
Supervisor: Dr Andrea Soltoggio

A procedure for autonomous and effective neural learning is proposed for a complex perception and control task. A deep neuronetwork is programmed from scratch.
